July 4th

We had a GREAT 4th! This is my favorite holiday of the whole year so I love to have loads of fun. we started the day off early at the Fairfax City parade. It was very hot for 8am. The clouds rolled in for a little while which cooled us down before they opened up again to the bright sunshine. We set up camp on the corner and watched the parade.
Mason loved having his pack and play to hang out in. I think I enjoyed it more than him, I was hot and I didn't want to hold him back from going into the road. We did bring his chair for when he was able to sit still, not too long though.

There was one interesting thing I saw that caught my eye. Not necessarily in a good way.... It was this:

Someone must have told her it looked cute. Maybe she was trying to replicate a look she saw in a fashion magazine. Here's what I really think. She had the white and the blue covered and she needed a touch of red. Her red belt would work she thought! Oh but it wasn't going to fit around her waist, oh well under my chest would look good too. I thought belts were to hold your PANTS up not your CHEST!

It was hot, hot, hot. Ken and Rachel invited us over for a swim. Mason looks like he can use a swim here.


After the pool we came home to rest and eat dinner before the fireworks.

We went over to the golf course to watch the fireworks. It was a perfect spot, even though we did watch most of the fireworks in the rain. Mason wasn't scared at all. I wondered if he even was hearing them. I was very ready for screaming and crying. I think he was so tired he really didn't care.
