Mason still doesn't sleep through the night. He gets up 2 or 3 times a night and I give him an 8 oz. bottle and rock him to sleep. So last night we gave the cry it out method a chance. I need to get him to sleep through the night before Sept when I have to work. We decided for the first night we would let him cry 10 min and then go out to him.

I was worried because he didn't each much for dinner and I was sure he'd be hungry. He went to bed at 9pm and slept until 4 am. This was really weird, he is usually up at 12 and 2. So I didn't sleep well because I wasn't sure why he hadn't woken up. At 4 he started whining and I watched the clock closely. It was killing me to hear him cry. He was asleep in 4 minutes. 4!! But then he was up again at 4:20. He cried for 10 minutes and I rushed out to him. I don't think he would have calmed himself down from the fit he got into.

I gave him some Motrin for his teeth and rocked him. No bottle! He did pretty well and was back in his crib by 4:45. Of course I didn't sleep too well because he'd gotten me all upset too. Needless to say he has slept until 8:30 this morning. It wasn't as bad as I expected. Hopefully tonight will be better.
