The Pentagon Memorial

We made it out to the Pentagon Memorial. It was an amazing experience for me and is now my favorite memorial here in the Nation's Capital. It was designed with so much thought and I just loved how it looked at night. I want to go back during the day to see it now!

Mr. Nguyen's son was in our 3 year old class at the JCC on 9/11. It was a very intense day....

There was a woman there at her husbands bench who shared a lot of the secrets with us. The benches are facing 2 different directions. The names are on the end of the bench. When you read the name, if you are facing the Pentagon that means that person was in the Pentagon. If you are reading the name and facing the sky it means that person was on the plane. The benches are lined up by birth year of those lost that day. The youngest was a 3 year old on the plane. There is one bench for each person and they are placed in order of birthday year and then in the row by birth month. It really was amazing and I recommend that everyone see it. It was very touching and I just can't say enough about it.
